Assignment for Business Ethics

The case When the Boss Doesnt like Her presents a clear case of
blackmailing which is just a reflection of some real life cases around the
world.
What would you recommend to Anna? What consequences may
occur as the result of her actions?
Upon reading the case I reached to conclusion that Anna should not
document Janets poor performance and should present the case to HR
Department at Headquarters in Atlanta. I reached to my conclusion and
would recommend to Anna that:
Report to the HR Department Headquarters in Atlanta: Black
mailing and bullying of any kind should not be tolerated in good
organization and one thing can Anna can de pretty well is to Report his
Action to HR Department at Headquarters. They will better decide who
should stay or who not to.
Anna should follow Code of Ethics: Organizations make Code of Ethics
so that there is peace and harmony. And these codes are not only meant
for employees but are also applicable on Managers and Bosses. When it
comes to Ethics, Bosses or Workers should be treated equally and in this
case Justin should be punished for his immoral actions.
Anna should support Janet: Justins remarks about Janets poor
performance is totally unreal. Inspite of her difficult divorce and
responsibility of upbringing of her two daughters now on her shoulder; she
is doing well in her performance and she even received positive
performance appraisal. Anna should stand firm on her ground and support
Janet in this case. Even she knows she works hard and ready to correct
any errors she made.
Consequences of her action: If she does the following above points
that I presented. She will be seen as ethical employee who think about her
fellow co-workers and her organization. Organizations require people like
these and looking her position as a manager and a close friend to Janet
she is just the right person to do this job.

Conclusion: Any good employee or good manager should not tolerate


physical or mental abuse of any kind. People in the organization should
care for each other and should empathise each other in the hour of need.
Employee always look for good and well established environment in which
they can work because not only will they be satisfied in their work but also
it will create goodwill for organization.
