Reflection
I chose Inquiry and Critical Thinking as the best university studies goal that could
capture my education paper. If people search this university studies goal online, they
will get the definition Students will learn various modes of inquiry through
interdisciplinary curriculaproblem-posing, investigating, conceptualizingin order
to become active, self-motivated, and empowered learners. It means through the
university study, students would become a person who is active and self-motivated
due to problem-posing concept or other concepts. In my opinion, the university is a
place that not only helps students to study and find jobs in the future, but also through
the university studies, students should get some skills for their future life, such as
problem-posing skill.
During this term, I have read an article called Pedagogy of Hope: Reliving Pedagogy
of the Oppressed In the chapter of this article, the author Freire states the questionposing concept. He thinks teachers should let students think and solve problems by
themselves instead of doing lecture. As similar as the university studies goal,
university should train students so that they could solve problems in their future life.
There is no teacher could help students in their future life, if they face some problems,
they have to solve by their own. However, some universities only do the banking
education concept that means teachers do the lecture while students learn and
remember. There is no doubt it is an easy way that students could learn knowledge for
their future career. However, there is no benefit that students can get the skills to solve
problems without teachers helping.

In the article, Freire states liberation education consists in acts of cognition, not
transferrals of information. In other wards, the education is a process that educates
cognize self and learn how to do independent think, not just get the knowledge form
teachers. Through the education, students not only band the knowledge, but also they
should get the skills what could help their future life.
Like I what I wrote in my education paper, the future career is no the only thing
student should to face. Getting job likes a stepping stone that helps students get a
better life in the future. In their future life, they will face challenges again and again
without others help. For that time, they could not use the knowledge for their career,
they have to use skills that they learnt during their university life: be a active, selfmotivated, and empowered learners. And then they could solve problems by their
own.
