This paper helped me to learn the

importance of analyzing issues under all
frames to ensure that each perspective is
considered before making decisions that
impact all stakeholders.
This provided me with some background
on the types of formats for meetings. It
provided great insights on what to
consider when planning meetings and how
to get buy in from staff to ensure
collaborative leadership rather than top
down mandates.
Job Embedded instruction is essential to
ensure that PD remains relevant for staff.
There are so many times teacher efficacy
is sacrificed due to a lack of administrative
initiative to keep the staff current with
training necessary to perform their job.

Crucial
Conversations

The Webster case study required close

analysis of the issues facing the school.
There were issues within the staff and
very bad perception within the
community. The leadership needed to
assess the areas of deficit and closely
monitor interventions and changes to
ensure positive gains in student
achievement and positive change in the
culture of learning for the school.
This assignment helped me to look at
job embedded professional
development. It is important to keep
PD relevant for staff to ensure that they
are making strides
As an administrator it is so essential to
consider the needs of new teachers to
ensure that they receive the support
that they need. It is up to
administrators to provide the training
and support to promote success for
new teachers.
As I watched The Art of Possibility,
there was a great deal of his message
that spoke to me as an educator. I felt
that he truly had an understanding of
what it takes to teach and also more
importantly lead. There is so much
emphasis on the negative and
recognizing all of the issues present and
so easy to get caught up in our
downward spiral.
Often crucial conversations bring on
emotions and it is important that quality
discussion does not fail to convert ideas

manage stress whenever possible.

Project:

This looked at authentic assessments

and their importance of ensuring
students are properly prepared for the
increase in rigor and application with
the common core state standards. All
teachers assess students but it is
necessary that students have application
aligned assessments that require them
to apply their knowledge and solve
problems.
This inquiry project allowed me to apply
my philosophy of learning and
assessment to develop a policy that will
promote increased student achievement
in my building. It is imperative that
homework is practice and allows
students to master content and skills
without heavily influencing their grade.
Assessments should reflect student
learning activities and measure student
