Doing the right thing – and doing it right!

Doing the right thing is a matter of choosing one amongst several things to do. Doing it right is the crucial matter of doing, effectively, all the things that might contribute to accomplishing the chosen thing.

A: Doing the right thing:
Doing the right thing involves choosing one amongst a number of alternatives. Item 1 Item 2 Item 3 Item 4 Item 5

The Right Thing! There are practical means available to help us choose The Right Thing. (In due course, I shall be putting up something on ‘Tradeoff Analysis’, which enables such choice to be made).

B: Doing it right! :
Having chosen Item 2, doing it right is a matter of effectively performing all the activities that may “contribute to” accomplishment of Item 2! If a significant number of the “contributory activities” are not performed effectively, then ‘Item 2’ would not be ‘done right’.
