You will be writing two short essays: the first one is pre-prepared, and
the second one will be announced on the assessment day. EACH
essay should have around 250 characters.
For the first known topic, please talk about /.
You may, but not limited to, write about you and/or your ideal partners
personalties, cultural backgrounds, hobbies and interests, special skills,
etc. You may refer to textbook pp.209-210 as inspiration to what you
can include in the essay.
Considering that the first topic is known (and thus not a real composition
test), a high marking standard will be applied. You should have it
well organised and all terms ready in Chinese before sitting in the
assessment.
You will know the second topic on the assessment day.
You will have ONE HOUR to finish the two essays.
After the hour, you will have 10 minutes using a phone/tablet/
dictionary/textbook to look up any characters or necessary
vocabulary you miss. TALKING, DISCUSSION, OR
COMMUNICATION BY ANY MEANS ARE CONSIDERED SERIOUS
ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT AND THUS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
DURING THIS LENIENT TIME. You must work on your own. It is
recommended that you use this golden time solely on the second topic.

Marking Criteria
Each essay will be marked based the following three criteria:
Content, structure, relatedness to the topic. (10)
Vocabulary & grammar. (10)
Correctness of characters & careful punctuation. (10)
Totally 60 points (3030) are available, weighted 15%.
