Show lyrics for French version of song (written on chart paper)

Teacher read through lyrics

Echo read with students and then sing together (repeat as needed)

Introduce phrases written on board

Teacher introduces myself and asks specific students to share their


name

Lots of gestures, expression and repetition!

Guided Practice:
Partner talk - introduce yourself and ask your partner what their
name is

High 5 3 people and then stop and introduce yourself (repeat)

Extensions:
- Also teach phrases comment ca va? ca va bien, mal, etc
Adaptations:

- Leave written phrases on the board for reference as necessary

- For chart with lyrics have English and French side by side

Read through lyrics once for students and then sing (without

Introduce letters of Alphabet in French - visual (write out letters on
board or use existing letter borders)

Repeat sounds after me

Sing song with music.in dierent ways (loud, soft, under water,
whisper, like a mouse, etc)

Guided Practice:
Literacy Centers (students rotate through during centre time as
usual)

1 - listen to alphabet song and watch videosing along

2 - use magnetic letters to spell their name - say the sounds of each
letter with teacher support

3 - trace letters in salt or kinetic sand

4 - Write and decorate names - colour in bubble lettersdraw a


picture of something that starts with the same sound
