REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Front Fender, Explorer


Removal
1.

Clean all dirt from the fender attaching screws, bolts and nuts.

2.

Remove the headlamp door (13064) and parking lamp (13201) . Refer to Section 17-01.

3.

Remove both bolts attaching the headlight assembly to the front fender (16005) .

4.

Remove one bolt (access by opening door) attaching the rear end of the front fender to the cowl.

5.

Remove the four bolts along the top of the front fender interbody attaching the front fender .

6.

Remove one bolt attaching brace to radiator support (16138) .

7.

Remove the four screws attaching the front fender splash shield (16102) to the front fender .

8.

Remove two bolts attaching the front fender to the rocker panel.

9.

Remove the front fender apron and radiator support brace (16A023) from the front fender (one bolt).
For installation, follow removal procedures in reverse order. Install all attaching screw and washer assemblies hand-tight and align the front fender before tightening to
specifications. Tighten all attaching screw and washer assemblies to 10-14 Nm (8-10 lb-ft).
