February 22, 2010 To whom it may concern: Joe Boughner has approached the Ottawa Centre Minor Hockey Association

to ask that we join him in his efforts to raise some funds to defray the costs of house league hockey for a few families in our district. While many of the families in Ottawa Centre – which consists of the Glebe, Old Ottawa South and Centretown neighbourhoods – are fortunate enough to be able to afford to have their kids play, there are some families for whom the cost of hockey is too high a barrier. Registration costs alone are likely to approach $600 for the 2010-2011 season, and the equipment can add at least another $200, even when acquired used. Joe has taken 2009-10 off, but for the four previous years he has coached Atomaged kids (9- and 10-year olds) on our house league teams. We look forward to having him back next year, and in the meantime we are delighted to assist and support him in his efforts to help more kids play. Any funds that Joe manages to raise for Ottawa Centre through his 30-30-30 project will be used solely for assisting families who would otherwise be unable to afford to play hockey in our district. On behalf of Ottawa Centre, I thank you very much for considering a donation to Joe's 30-30-30 project, and wish him every success. Best regards,

“Eric Lay”
