player in the WTA repeatedly. She is the younger sister of another tennis
champion, Venus Williams who have between them eight medals olmpicas1.
Currently lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, United States.

Lewis & Clark


The expedition of Lewis and Clark (1804-1806), led by Meriwether Lewis and
William Clark, was the first overland expedition starting from the eastern
United States reached the Pacific coast and back.
yLewis claimed that the mouth of the River Dubois (on the east bank of the
Mississippi, opposite the mouth of the Missouri River) was the official starting
point of the expedition, although the two and a half months that led them down
the Ohio River can be considered the real beginning.

The expedition began to ascend the Missouri River aboard a riverboat


("keelboat") of about 17 meters long (55 feet) and two smaller pirogues. As
they traveled paddling upstream, Clark spent much of his time in the boat,
charting the course and making maps, while Lewis was often ground, studying
the rock formations, soil, animals and plants that were to along the way.
On april 1805, some members of the expedition were sended to home in what
they called the return group. With them they sended an infrom with the
description of Lewis and Clark discoveries, 108 botanica and zoological
specimens 68 minerals, and the map of Clark of United States.
