end of AC is not to exceed 1.5 MPa and 2.5
MPa, respectively. (b) If AC is cut at 60o with
the horizontal midway between A and C,
determine the corresponding normal stress
and shear stress that developed.

The bars of the truss each have a crosssectional area of A = 3 in2. If the maximum
average normal stress in any bar is not to
exceed 20 ksi, determine the maximum
magnitude of W that can be supported at E.

that are pinned to member BD at D.
