Strike Up The Band!
A Celebration of the Military through Music
Sunday September 13, 2015
San Diego's month long Fleet Week festivities kick off in Coronado with
Strike Up the Band! Coronado Playhouse, the Community's Theatre, hosts this one
night only entertainment event Sunday September 13th featuring some of our best
singers and musicians celebrating the military through music. Doors open at
6:30 p.m. with curtain at 7 p.m. The evening begins with the national anthem and
a patriotic showing of colors by the Air Force ROTC Detachment 075 Honor
Guard from San Diego State University.
This community cabaret is filled with a "Yankee Doodle Dandy" line up of
performers including Neal Sullivan, Sarah LeClair Klacka, Hourie Klijian, Julie
McKane, Amanda Everett, Gabby Nelson, Lisa Ritz, Frank Remiatte, Kristy
Connard, Jennie Gray Connard, Meredith Russo, Alisa Crandall Williams, Rob
Johnston, Dee Ann Johnston, Laurel Widmer, Tiffany Loui and Debbie David
with Master of Ceremonies M.G. Perez. Musical Director Kirk Valles leads the
band which will accompany the program of classic favorites, some of Broadway's
best and a good old fashioned USO variety show.
Coronado Playhouse continues its tradition of partnering with a community
organization to help those in need. Strike Up The Band! benefits San Diego
Armed Services YMCA, the leading non-profit organization committed to making
military life easier for thousands of active duty service members and their
families. Founded in 1920 as a national affiliate of the YMCA, the San Diego
ASY provides programs to help military members and their families in mind,
