PHILOSOPHY 1
Animal Farm by George Orwell
A Reaction Paper
The story of Animal Farm, basically, by the bearing of the title, is about
Animal. It was a story about the animals wanted to be freed from Mr. Jones, their
owner. They wanted to be free because Mr. Jones doesnt treat the animals well.
The animals work all day and not being rewarded or accredited for the work they
done. Old major, considered as the oldest and wisest in the animal farm,
encouraged the other animals to form a revolution against Mr. Jones. He soon
died after announcing it, and as a new acting leader of the animal farm,
Snowball, gave new rules about equality and led the animal farm throughout
seasons. But, on the other hand, greedy and heartless Napoleon, stole the idea
of Snowball and let him be killed by his dogs, and even called him a traitor. And
as soon as Napoleon take the lead in the farm, the other animals were treated
badly making them work for more and eat less. One day, the pals of Mr. Jones
decided to have a movement against the animal farm. Mr. Jones blew up the
windmill that all the animals worked hard of. So they have to rebuild it again. So
the story went on with the animals being treated badly. Until when Boxer had the
injury and needed to rest well and got taken by Whymper as a trade for Whiskey
for Napoleon and the other pigs. And because

of that, Boxers best friend

Benjamin heard that Napoleon is planning and meeting other pigs to copy him.
To have other animals farms follow the governance of the pigs. So Benjamin told
the other animals and soon, they fight for their right and maybe, Napoleon
learned his lessons.
Over all, I think Animal Farm is a good story. It gives us moral lessons. And
I think the whole story is a big symbolism. From the use of pigs, which I think was
a representation of greed and hunger for power. But too much power can cause
you blindness for the good things. Though, Snowballs aim is better and much
pure than Napoleon, the good ones are always the victims of the bad ones. But I
think, the overall purpose of the author is to give the audience awareness of
what might happen or what is happening in the governance of bad people. We
should not always act like a puppet from the people we think who has more
power than us. We should also know the two sides of the story. I admire the way
that author depicts the truth of what might happen when a leader is full of bad
intention and bad use of power they get evicted.
