OUR PROGRAMS

Twin Cities-based Angel Foundation provides


emergency financial assistance, education and
support to local adults with cancer and their
families. Since 2001, the nonprofit organization
has provided more than $5 million in
emergency financial assistance and has helped
more than 24,000 people through its
programs.

When cancer strikes, Angel Foundation offers


two programs:

Angel Foundation moved into new offices


located in Mendota Heights in summer 2015.
The organizations revenue budget in 2014 was
$2.2 million with a total staff of 13 full time
employees including the President.

The Emergency Financial Assistance program


provides funds to adults in active treatment
for cancer, living in or treated in the Twin Cities
for non-medical basic needs such as food,
utilities, housing and transportation.

The Facing Cancer Together program provides


free education and support programs to
families with school-age children living with a
parental cancer diagnosis.

PRESENTING THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT


Angel Foundation has a rich history and an exciting future. The
organization is searching for a new President to take a long-term view
and lead the organization in its work of providing financial support and
programs for individuals and families when cancer strikes.

THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRESIDENT:


Organizational Leadership
Fundraising and Financial Development

The President will be responsible for strategy development, fundraising,


financial oversight and overall management of this nonprofit
organization. This leader will be responsible for maintaining excellence in
services, building and maintaining relationships with individual donors,
institutional donors and strengthening ties with new partner
organizations.

Strategic Planning

The President reports to Angel Foundation board of directors which is


made up of a variety of business, healthcare and community leaders. The
position oversees a committed staff of 12 full-time and numerous
volunteer professionals. Roles reporting directly to the President are:
Director of Finance and Operations (Deb Berglund), Director of Programs
and Community Relations (Sarah Manes) and Director of Development
(Jennifer Harrison, CFRE).

External Communications

Angel Foundation is seeking a visionary, empathetic, and enthusiastic


leader, with a background in nonprofit or community leadership and a
passion for the mission of Angel Foundation and the individuals served.
The President will lead Angel Foundation in executing its strategic plan
and will oversee the implementation of annual operating objectives. The
President will serve as primary fundraiser, advocate and connector for
the work of Angel Foundation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The fully qualified candidate will possess ten or more years of
related leadership experience with a non-profit service
organization of similar size and complexity, although
comparable leadership experience in other sectors will be
considered.

AS PRESIDENT YOU WILL:

Bring a passion and experience in resource development


including having metand exceeded fundraising or
advancement goals;

Demonstrate a proven ability to build lasting


relationships with donors, including individuals,
corporations, small businesses, healthcare partners and
foundations;

Experience with managing, hiring, and effectively


structuring staff and staff positions; including executive
oversight of metrics relating to all employees
(compensation,turnover, recruiting, etc.)

A commitment to on-going development of staff skills


and abilities;

Experience managing successful strategic initiatives,


particularly in execution of strategic plan objectives;

Demonstrate excellent communication and


interpersonal skills with experience inpublic speaking
and communicating Angel Foundations vision;

Have a proven record of excellence in staff


communication and staff relations;

Establish credibility within a wide range of communities


from demonstrated commitment to working with people
from a wide range of cultural, socio-economic, age and
professional backgrounds.

Experience managing a staff, managing a budget and engaging


with a board of directors is required.
Demonstrated experience and track record of success in
fundraising including individual major donors, special
event and annual giving campaigns, corporate and
foundation funding support, and earned income revenue
generation.
Educational background includes a bachelors degree in a
related topic or comparable community or certificate
education with a masters degree preferred.

THE COMPENSATION PACKAGE


The compensation package is based on experience and includes participation in the Angel Foundations benefits plan.
