The Dallas Playwrights’ Workshop is an exciting opportunity for DFW Dramatists to hone their craft, make
connections, and learn from their peers in a rigorous and supportive environment. Under the tutelage of DTC’s
Playwright-in-Residence, award winning dramatist and Mellon Foundation Fellow Will Power, participants
will be guided through a series of activities designed to strengthen their writing skills and sharpen their selfreflective dramaturgical eye. Convening at the Wyly Theatre, the group will meet on a weekly basis for 9 weeks
in the fall of 2015, starting on Monday evening October 12th. The Fall 2015 session will focus on developing
dramatic works from conception to page to stage. Each playwright will create in session a three-scene sequence
that will then culminate in a closed reading amongst workshop participants. There is no cost to participate.
3 to 4 playwrights will be selected for participation in the program, which is by invitation only.
The Dallas Playwrights’ Workshop is intended for emerging and mid-career playwrights who reside in DFW
and have previously written at least one play and are able to demonstrate a unique, compelling voice.
