Differentiated Learning
What changes to learning,
instruction or teacher
focus may be needed to
cater for individual
differences?

Teacher Action
What will you do during this
time? What prompting
questions may you need to
prepare? How will you monitor
student progress and needs?

Students will have a vocal

contribution during this
section to pitch their ideas
about how the title of the
chapter could be useful in
helping our prediction.

Can the title of the chapter

The Family Dog help in
making our prediction of what
will happen in this chapter

(Emphasis on not wanted

too many ideas to be
shared because we want to
get a large range of ideas).

What has happened so far in

the book, my SLOS is this .

Stage 2 Body
of lesson

distinct task in
the order to be

Students then complete a
SLOS, one to two
sentences on what has
happened so far in the
story.
The students then
complete a reading
response in predicting on
what will happen in the
chapter we are going to
read in the next lesson

In this section students will

get a chance to use their
creativity, imagination in
predicting what will happen
to Peter and his family in
this upcoming chapter, and

For the students that are

known to me to struggle
with the last reading
response they did last
week I will pay a closer
attention to them and
assist/ prompt more.

In this section I am just

instructing the students on
what needs to be done initially
then the students will go into
the task in which I will help
delegate questions, assist with
inquires.
When students are completing
SLOS and Reading response I
will wonder throughout the
classroom in answering
question but also prompting
students to explain their work
more. This is one aspect we
realized more students need to
do is adding more information
(emotions, feelings, dialogue)
into their stories/ predictions.
