TASK DESIGN

Topic: Solar System
Learning Competencies:
At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:
a. identify the solar system;
b. state orally the importance of the solar system; and
c. perform activities about the solar system.

Activities:
“Pick Out”

In this activity, the teacher will let the students identify the solar system. There will be
two house-shapes instructional materials posted in the board which are labeled with
‘Store 1’ and ‘Store 2’.
In the ‘Store 1’ are different pictures including everything which composed the solar
system and the ‘Store 2’ is empty.
The students will buy from ‘Store 1’ by choosing the picture which they think describes
the solar system. The teacher will be the one to select the names of the students randomly
to do this activity.
The students will put the pictures of they’ve chosen in the ‘Store 2’.
After putting all the pictures of their choice in the ‘Store 2’, the teacher will ask
somebody to justify their answer.
“Identifying what is?”

The teacher will let the students watch a video about the solar system.
After watching, the class will be divided into two (2) groups. The students in the first
group will look or search for anything that could describe the solar system based on what
they have seen in the video. The students in second group will think of a word or phrase
that could characterize the solar system based on what they’ve seen.
Individually, the students will present and justify/support their answers.

“Collaboration”

The class will be divided into four groups.
The first two groups will perform a jazz chant identifying the solar system. They will be
given five minutes to conceptualize and practice.
The remaining groups will perform a role play telling and showing the importance of the
solar system. Five minutes will be given for them to conceptualized and practice.
All groups are given a maximum of four minutes to present their assigned tasks.

Topic: Lunar System
Learning Competencies:
At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:
a. identify the lunar system;
b. tell about the lunar system; and
c. design lunar system
Activities:

The teacher will let the student watch a video about the lunar system.
The class will be divided into four groups. Each group will discuss about what they’ve
learned on the video. They will be given three minutes to discuss.
After discussing, each group will design their own model of lunar system through the use
of recycled materials. Ten minutes is given to design.
All groups will present their output in front to justify their output. Each member of the
group will tell something about their output.
Members from other group will ask questions afterwards to the group who is presenting.
