UWB 10202/12302 EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES


SEMESTER II 2014/2015

1. Form a team of FIVE (5) or SIX (6) and establish a company. In your respective
group conduct frequent meetings to come up with THREE (3) potential
projects for fellow friends and colleagues from various field of study in the
campus. Use appropriate communication and negotiation skills in your
meetings. At the end of the meeting, each team needs to produce meeting
notices and minutes for each meeting.
(Week 5 onwards; 30%)
2. Choose ONE of the THREE (3) projects decided during the first meeting and
determine the marketing strategies to promote your chosen project to your
fellow friends and colleagues from various field of study in the campus. Design
either a suitable brochure or poster and hand it in to the lecturer for
assessment. You may also promote your project through social media.
(Week 8-9; 10%)
3. Execute your project successfully. Conduct an interview to gain feedback from
your customers/clients in relation to its quality, usefulness, etc.
(Week 9 onwards; 15%)
4. Finally, you are very pleased that you have accomplished the project and
therefore, would like to share your experiences; success, joy, despair, struggle,
gain and pain with fellow students and lecturer. Choose a suitable topic and
deliver a short speech (10 minutes). Use appropriate visual aids and
presentation skills.
(Week 10 - 14; 20%)
