Iraqs ISIS Problem
According to the Universal Nation of Human Rights, Human rights are
rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of
residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any
other status (Universal Nation Human Right). Despite this, many countries
violate human rights. One of these countries is Iraq, where the violation of
rights is becoming a major problem. The current government of Iraq shows
little concern to protect their peoples rights making it a major problem.
Because of the governments lack of protection such as peoples welfare, it
became possible for the Islamic terrorist organization like ISIS to violate the
rights of the Iraqi people. The purpose behind the ISIS fighters violating
human rights is so that they could create a caliphate all over the Middle East.
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are threatening the lives of the Iraqi
citizens and clearly violate human rights through kidnapping, raping and the
violation of freedom towards the Iraqi Citizens.
The Islamic state of Iraq violates more than 4,000 million human rights.
One of them is by kidnapping Iraqi citizens. ISIS in Iraq kidnaps not only
adults, but also children, who they would turn into child soldiers. They
kidnapped over 1,200 children from northern Iraq, and shipped them to a

jihadist training facilities (Christian Post). The Islamic state wants to ensure
the next generation of ISIS is in good hands. By doing so, they violate a
certain right which is No slavery. ISIS does not care about the lives of
children, women or even men. All they care is for them to establish a
caliphate which is a form of Islamic Government throughout the whole Middle
East. Up to 500 children reportedly kidnapped by Isis in Iraq could be used
as suicide bombers and child soldiers (Dearden, Lizzie). One method ISIS
uses to gain the worlds attention, is to kidnap innocent children, and turning
them into weapons so they can ensure a new generation of new ISIS fighters.
ISIS turns the children into deadly weapons by sending them to a camp
called Cups of Caliphate. There, the children are being brainwashed with
extremist ideology turning them to become loyal child soldiers who would
obey any orders they wish to command (Christian Post). In jihadist training
camps, kids live in absolute desperation. The kids do not have any hope on
going to their beloved ones, and ISIS fighters does not care about them. Not
only is ISIS becoming a domestic problem in Iraq and Syria, but also around
the globe. ISIS has already been successful in recruiting people, including
children from over 100 countries. In conclusion, ISIS in Iraq are threatening
the lives of Children, Women and Men through kidnapping them and taking
away each of their human rights.
Besides kidnapping citizens in Iraq, ISIS violates other human rights by
raping the women in Iraq. Islams sacred book called the Quran, made raping
legal according to the Islamic state fighter (ISIS). ISIS fighters believe that
Wikara 3
raping a certain women will bring them closer to God. Their ritual before
raping is that they have to pray while bending their knees. For ISIS, raping is
like a symbol of worshiping (Ibadah). The Islamic fighters normally rape girls
under the age of 12, where they could explain how they are allowed to rape
an unbeliever. ISIS fighters would follow their custom where before raping a
girl, it is mandatory for them to pray beforehand. In the moments before he
raped the 12-year-old girl, the Islamic State fighter took the time to explain
that what he was about to do was not a sin. Because the preteen girl
practiced a religion other than Islam, the Quran gave him the right to rape
her (Lima, Mauricio). The Quran in which the ISIS fighters really believe is
basically a religious text and it is believed to be a revelation from God. ISIS
Fighters make use of Islamic principles for sex slavery. According to two
women that were raped by an Islamic fighter, they would always pray before
raping the women and start talking the Islamic text. The way ISIS treats
women is unbelievable.
marriage are all crimes against humanity. From doing these harmful acts,
they are one step close on creating a caliphate in the Middle East.
Not only does ISIS kidnap and rape Iraqi citizens, but ISIS also violates
one of the most important right: the right to freedom. People in Iraq are not
allowed to express their own opinions about the religion. Anyone who does
not believe in their ideology are immediately beheaded. The Islamic fighters
are against Sunni Muslims, Christians and Yazidis. People who worship one of
those three religions are directly tortured. ISIS has visited acts of brutality
Wikara 4
and violence on Shia Muslims (who constitute the majority of the Iraqi
population), Christians, and Yazidis, as well as Sunni Muslims who oppose
their ideology. Such acts include desecrations, suicide and other bombings,
kidnappings, and massacres, This quote describes that if they disobey even
a single word of ISISs ideology which is their Islamic believes, the Iraqi
citizen would be kidnapped, massacred and probably become a weapon for
suicide bombing.. In conclusion, ISIS does not only kidnap and rape, but most
of all they took away the freedom of religion. None of the Iraqi citizens that is
being held by the ISIS are allowed to choose their own believes. ISIS only
wants one believe which is the Islamic believe.
In conclusion, ISIS in Iraq is a major problem that could affect the
whole world. The way they abuse their own Iraqi citizens is clearly above the
crimes of humanity. The way ISIS treats children, women and men is clearly a
violation of human rights not only to one right, but almost of the 30 rights
that was taken away by the ISIS. Through raping, kidnapping and violation of
freedom by the ISIS towards their own citizens in Iraq, we can now
understand about ISISs cruelty and what they are capable of towards the
world if it doesnt stop.
