Notes from Miss Rubenstein

Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome to you and

your child to my third grade class. I look

forward to getting to know all of you, and
having a great year together. I believe to
have another successful school year
communication is not only important, but
crucial.
Any information I need to distribute
this year will come weekly in the form of a
newsletter (such as this one). It will be
emailed out and sent home in paper
form each Friday.
If you would like to contact me for
any reason throughout this year, my
phone number and email are listed
above. Please do not hesitate to call me
with any questions, concerns, or updates.
Thank you,
Miss Rubenstein

Lets be Creative!

21st Century
Career Feature

Creativity is how someone expresses

his or her imagination and ideas. It
could be in the form of art, writing,
music, acting, dance, etc. Expressing
creativity is important because it
makes every person unique.
In my class, I encourage all students to
be creative and when possible add
their own creative touch to
assignments. Parents should be
encouraging children to incorporate
their own creativity in schoolwork.
Starting with the first math project seen
on the calendar. For example,
musically talented students could
create their own song to help
remember multiplication facts. More
hands on learners may want to use
blocks or legos to show the
multiplication facts.

Job in demand in the next fifty years: Information

Technology Professional. This is someone who works
with the design, development, and software of
computers.
In my classroom, students will be taught
communication skills, writing skills, and thought
development, all while being introduced to todays
technology throughout various lessons. When trying
to develop a new computer program, great detail
needs to be given and the product must be well
thought out. Encouraging students to really plan
before writing and develop their ideas will help them
to become better writers. With a strong background
in technology, writing, and communication the
students will have the skills to become great I.T.
Professionals one day.

Parenting Tip of the Week

Steps to Success!

Homework: Parents should be there to support and reinforce what is taught at school, but not
do homework for the child. Start off the school year by making a positive homework routine
and if frustration during homework ever gets to be a problem, please contact me. Homework is
a chance to practice what was learned at school not upset the child.

Fact of the Month

This month our country observed Labor Day on September 2nd. Labor Day is the celebration
of the American Labor Movement and the contributions all workers have done for our country. We
will be focusing on those Americans who have contributed to our country for our biography
projects.
Each month students will learn about a specific holiday and its significance to us. I feel that
our countrys history is important to learn so monthly projects will focus on these various holidays and
their important people.
