Math

Grade 3

Course Description

In the Lower School, math instruction is delivered using the Everyday Math program. A cornerstone of the program is the belief that
math instruction should spiral, so that students return to concepts throughout the year. Students frequently learn math in small
groups, and are encouraged to discuss and share problem-solving strategies. Understanding of math concepts is encouraged through
hands-on experiences and real-world math problems. Increasing automaticity of math facts and computational skill are also expected.
Math concepts and skills are explored in a variety of ways, such as daily mental math practice, conceptual activities, and games.
