Enable Font Smoothing on the Welcome Screen (Windows XP)

Windows XP includes a new feature called Clear Type which is designed to make fo
nts more readable on LCD and low resolution screens. This tweak allows you to en
able font smoothing on the Welcome screen where it is normally disabled.
Open your registry and find the key below.
To enable font smoothing, set the value of "FontSmoothing" to "2" and the value
of "FontSmoothingType" to "2".
Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
