November

is the month for planting so this morning I brought some flower buds that the
children could pull apart to take the seeds out. It was an actiity for the little ones but Theo
wanted to join us.

We sat in a circle . I asked them what they thought was in the basket , Theo said they were
from the tree. Clever boy , I should them what they were going to do. Remove the petals to take
out the seeds.

All the children were enagaged in the activity ; removing the petals carefully to take the seeds
out when we saw one of the little onnes put the flower bud in his mouth for a taste. He did spit
it out but it genertated the conversation amongst the children. Theo said we dont eat this, its
for the bees.

Clever Theo was reflecting and sharing his prior knowledge. We then had good discussion
about flowers, bees and hwo they make honey. Later we went out and planted our seeds. Theo
without instrcution dug a hole in the ground then picked seeds and placed them inside. I asked
himt to fill up the hole back with dirt.

Once all the children were done, he said to me we are going to water now. He remembered me
saying that earlier on.

I am very pleased to see Theo communicating with me and the other children and beginning to
state his ideas within the group. I will continue to provide him with more such opportunities
where he gets the opportunity to contribute to the group discussion.
