VHA West Texas VA HCS Big Spring
Department of Veterans Affairs

Big Spring, TX 79720

Dear Ms. Fitzgibbons:

I am pleased to learn of your need for a Registered Nurse OEF/OIF/OND Program Manager at the VHA
West Texas VA. I am confident that my background as a registered nurse in the United States Air Force
will enable me to be a valuable asset to your OEF/OIF/OND Program.
I currently work as a medical step-down RN at Keesler AFB, which is located in Biloxi, MS. I provide
exceptional nursing care for 3-4 step-down patients who are experiencing a variety of diagnoses. My
role as a step-down RN allows me to collaborate with multiple disciplines and teams. In addition to my
staff nursing position, I also serve my nursing staff as a charge nurse. I use my strong leadership skills
to provide guidance and support to my nursing team.
In addition to my military nursing background, I also have a variety of clinical experiences through my
time as a student at the University of Arizona. I completed my clinical experiences at a long-term care
facility, medical-surgical floor, obstetrics floor, a step-down unit, and a variety of intensive-care units
while completing my BSN education. I refined my time-management skills when I balanced my
education and membership in Air Force ROTC and the Student Nurses at the University of Arizona
organization. I then received my MSN degree at the University of Arizona while working in Mississippi.
I will use my leadership skills and time-management abilities to effectively coordinate the care of our
veterans. My BSN and MSN degrees meet your education requirements and will help me succeed as
your Program Manager. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve your staff and our OEF/OIF/OND
veterans in this position.

Sincerely,

Felicia Coiner
