Re: Ms. Dalina Alvizo
Hello:
It is my pleasure to provide a letter of recommendation for my current student, Ms. Dalina Alvizo. Dalina
will be graduating in December 2015 from the University of Arizonas Registered Nursing program with
her Bachelors degree in Nursing. I taught/supervised Dalinas Obstetric clinical course known as Nursing
Care of the Childbearing Family in fall 2015. This clinical rotation of 2 credits gave Dalina the opportunity
to perform in the role of the professional student nurse in an acute hospital setting for obstetrics, by
applying critical thinking and nursing practice to diverse client populations across the life span and in
various stages of health.
In this 4 week clinical rotation at Saint Josephs Hospital in Tucson Arizona, Dalina successfully
completed a rotation in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Labor and Delivery, as well as in the Couplet
Care unit. As her faculty, I was very impressed by Dalinas ability to relate compassionately to parents
and their newborns. Dalinas clinical practice experiences at Saint Josephs Hospital allowed her to gain
valuable critical thinking skills and application of theory by providing nursing care to her clients across the
lifespan and various stages of health. At the completion of Dalinas clinical rotation, she excelled at
providing safe clinical nursing care to her patients and did so with confidence. Therefore, without
hesitation, I am certain Dalina will excel in her role as a Registered Nurse at Childrens Hospital Los
Angeles.
As you are aware, Dalina is committed to securing a position at your facility as a nurse and I strongly
believe Dalina is well suited to this service endeavor. Academically speaking, Dalina has excelled in her
course work and all of my assignments! During her clinical rotation with me, Dalina also presented
evidence based research concerning improving maternal/newborn relationships in women with
depression which was extremely insightful and compelling. .
I have personally observed Dalina s excellent time management skills, her sincere commitment in giving
her best at all times, exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking, as well as her tremendous sense
of dedication and caring she provides to all of her patients as a student nurse. These personal qualities
of Dalinas I believe are key ingredients leading to exceptional clinical practice and patient care.
Without hesitation, I highly recommend Dalina Alvizo as one of the top applicants you will consider among
others. I am happy to be contacted by phone to speak further about Dalina and to answer any additional
questions. I can be reached at 651-208-4610 or via email at moconnel@nursing.arizona.edu
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this exceptional student nurse.
Sincerely Yours,

Mary O'Connell, MA, RN
