The company was formed in 1970 and has constantly led the field with products designed for safety and ide environmental monitoring needs. In 1981 Crowcon acquired the Detection Instruments Group, including Detection Instruments Ltd, Salen Ditech and DI (India). Detection Instruments Group was the fully merged into Crowcon's operation to fully support the Fire and Gas Detection business. Detection Instruments Ltd was formed in 1972 specializing in supplying gas detection equipment to the petrochemical industry. The Singapore office keeps a high level of stock in terms of new equipment and spares to support the sales distribution in Asia. This ensures that delivery lead time is kept to a minimum and helping the customer to reduce their repair stock holding.
