Professional Growth Plan 2016

Name: Dana Hausauer

Faculty Mentor: Rick Lane
Teacher Mentor: Audrey Pavelich
School: Crestwood School
School Administrator: David George
Practicum Dates: January 4, 2016April 26, 2016
Professional Goal #1: I would like to ensure that the
assessments that I am using are related directly to both the
curriculum and what I am teaching in Social Studies and
Science
Rationale: I am somewhat unfamiliar with both the Social Studies and
Science curriculums. To ensure I am creating authentic assessments it
will be beneficial to focus on having clear assessment directly related
to the curriculum and past teaching.
Strategies:
Creating thorough assessment plans for both Social and Science
Creating Test Blueprints to ensure the questions are connected to
the curriculum
Reflecting about assessment practices
Indicators of Achievement:
If the questions on the test blueprint match the curriculum
directly
Ongoing discussion with mentor teacher
Timeline: I believe having authentic assessment is a goal that I will
always have throughout my teaching career. I would like to focus on
this goal during my practicum form January-April.
Professional Goal #2: I would like to focus on finding the best
way of organization and planning for myself.
Rational: As a teacher, there is always a growing to do list that
consists of phone calls, emails, marking, photo copying etc. I would like
to take the time of PSIII to focus on creating a way of organization that
works best for me.

Strategies:
Using timetables
Using agendas
Creating lists
Making sure everything for my lessons is finished before the
morning of the lesson
Indicators of Achievement:
Have all of my assignments and things to do done ahead of time
The feeling of being organized and on top of things
Ongoing conversation with my teacher associate
Timeline: I would like to have found a great organization process by
the end of February.
Professional Goal #3: I would like to be involved in a variety of
committees and after school options to contribute to the
overall success of the school as a whole.
Rational: I believe it is very important for teachers to be involved in
all aspects of the school system. There are numerous committees,
after school programs, etc. that need teacher volunteers in order to
operate. During the time that I was in school I was involved in a variety
of clubs and activities and I believe that is important to give back
Strategies:
Speak to various teachers, and the principal in the school to find
out what committees or programs are available.
Sign up for committees
Sign up for after school programs
Indicators of Success:
Involvement in at least one co-curricular activity
Timeline: Any time between January-April
