Teach ESL!

Boston HERC Adult Education Program

The Boston Higher Education Resource Center (HERC) is a social justice ministry of the Congregacin
Leon de Jud in Roxbury. We are seeking mature, motivated volunteers for our growing communitybased English program on Monday and Wednesday nights starting in September. Our learners are
primarily low-income, Latino immigrants working to make a better life for themselves and their
families. We have many positions available for people who desire to serve the Lord through the
teaching of English and become part of our diverse, change-oriented community.

Why Volunteer?

This program is important

to me because it is one vehicle
of empowering people and
using the gifts that God has
given me. The students
dedication and eagerness and
their desire to learn was
encouraging to me.
