As a child, I was taught the

importance of having religion in
my life. I was raised in the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
and am still an active member to
this day. The scriptures were and
are a fundamental part of who I am,
and are at the core of who I am as a
person. One passage that
particularly fascinated me was the creation of the Universe, which
is described in the Old Testament. When I pondered on this for
the rst time, I was staggered by the sheer scale of this event.
There are several trillions of stars in the universe and most of
those have at least four planets. We cant just include matter
however! We must also remember that there are laws of physics,
chemistry, biology, matter, and any other science that were
necessary to our existence. It boggled my mind in a way that I
have yet to recreate. Since then, Ive been driven to produce rather
than destroy. Its a natural instinct for me, and is the reason that I
am who I am today. Whenever I became friends with someone, I
was (and still am) fearful of confronting them about something,
afraid that I may damage the relationship we have. The same
principle is in eecttoday.

That interest in creation didnt stop

as a child. While growing up, I
always would assemble LEGO
fortresses and create elaborate art
projects. I manifest that nowadays
through music. Its my main
passion; it remains my only true
escape from the absurdity of the
real world. Both partaking in
listening to someone elses creation or performing your own are
joyous experiences. My love for production didnt conclude as a
child, and its something that will remain throughout my life. The
creation of music brings joy like no other activity in life.
Whenever I feel down or like all hope is lost, I whip my trumpet
out and play a few tunes. Immediately, I regain focus and my
mind is cleared. My parents describe these events as,The rapid
expulsion of bad thoughts. I tend to agree with them, not only in
a humorous way, but in a valid and truthful way. Creation simply
warms my heart and makes me a more enjoyable person. Its an
incredible way to improve my day. I, like my brothers before me,
enjoy music for its creative license and enjoymentvalue.

My future is one that is clouded

over and pale. I have several careers
I could go into, many of which
include creation in some form.
Being an Astrophysicist allows me
to observe Gods creation, whereas
being a musician lets me do what I
love but hardly puts a meal on the
table for my family. If I want to be
involved in creation but also be able to create a family, then I will
go into programming. While the clacking of a keyboard cant do
justice to the majestic sound of a trumpet, I wont look back. One
of my favorite quotes that pertains to this topic is one from Henri
Nouwen which reads,The real enemies of our life are the oughts
and the ifs. They pull us backward into the unalterable past and
forward into the unpredictable future. But real life takes place in
the here and now. Creation is a beautiful thing, and if I must
sacrice creating what I love most to create my family, then its
something I must do. Its amusing to me, looking back earlier
about what I said with me wanting to create friendships and not
destroy them. I desire to create bonds and keep said bonds intact
for eternity. If it means I must sacrice the creation of something
to prevent the destruction of another, then I must do it. The
creation of loyalty to anything is a powerful concept, one not
easily broken. I am a creator, not a destroyer. One that is willing to

remain loyal through all, no matter the circumstances.
