ACTIVITY 4

LESSON PLAN:

Level /Age 5th of primary. 10-11 years old.

Theme Easter meals

Objectives - To learn specific vocabulary about food, cooking tools and cooking
actions.
- To know how to write a correct recipe
Contents - Instructions
- Imperative forms
- ICT skills
- Cooking actions
- Food vocabulary

Procedure:

A. Pre-computer:
- Oral activity: The students will talk about their favourite meals, what do they prefer, if
they cook at home, where do they like to go to have lunch out, who cooks at home,
etc.
- Reading activity: The teacher will give a worksheet with some recipes, the students will
have to read the recipes and guess which meal is about. There will be some new
vocabulary in the recipes.
- Writing activity: The students will write down the words that they haven’t understood.
B. Computer:
- The students will have to look on the net for the words that they haven’t understood
and translate them.
- Now, they are going to visit the given webpage and look for the recipes that they are
asked to complete. In the new worksheet they will have to complete some recipes,
like missing steps, some missing ingredients etc.
- Then, they will have to choose an Easter recipe from the web to work with it later.
C. Post-computer:
- After choosing a recipe from the webpage, they are going to write it down and copy it
in a big mural.
- Once they wrote the recipe in the mural, the students will have to invent or think of a
new one, it has to be funny and simple.
- The students will write the new invented recipe next to the one from the web.
- At the end, all the students from the class will join their recipes and create the ‘BIG
BOOK OF MEALS.’
