FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Local Publicity Chair: Contact: Susan Hill Four County Mental Health Center 620.331.1912 Re: FREE DENTAL CLINIC – APRIL 16 & 17, 2010 Kansas Mission of Mercy - Independence 2010 Free dental services are available April 16 & 17 to anyone in need of dental care at the Kansas Mission of Mercy project. The Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation will be holding their ninth free dental clinic KMOM – Independence 2010 at Independence Community College West Campus 2505 S. Main (Old Food-4-Less Building). Those attending the clinic should go to the facility directly west (previously Kmart) to get in line for services. Doors will open at 5:30 AM both Friday and Saturday with services being provided on a first-come, first-served basis. At this location individuals will register and wait to be escorted to the ICC West Campus for dental care. Services are targeted to individuals and families in need of urgent dental needs. These services are provided by hundreds of licensed dentists and hygienists who have donated their talents to treat patients. Many children, elderly individuals and underserved adults, suffer from oral health problems like gum disease and cavities that create constant pain and daily health crisis that no one in America should have to live with. In fact, 4 – 5 million American kids experience tooth decay severe enough to cause pain and infection every day. This project is extremely helpful for those who do not have dental insurance or cannot afford dental care. Patients are screened and treated based on their most urgent dental needs – extractions, fillings, and cleanings on a first-come, first-served basis. Pediatric dentists will treat children at the clinic. Services are available to anyone, no matter where they live, their income or their age.
