I wish to be considered for the role of primary/junior teacher with you school board. I am very interested
in this position and know that my previous experiences in leadership, classroom management, addressing
diverse student needs, character development as well as assessment and evaluation have prepared me
for the challenges of this position.

I am a passionate and energetic educator and strongly believe that every child has the ability to succeed if
provided to right tools and environment. I use a wide range of teaching strategies to address the differentiated
needs and multiple intelligences within a classroom. I am a very organized individual and believe in good record
keeping to track, assess and evaluate student development. I have also now started to keep both Provincial and
school based data in mind as I transition into the role of a teacher within the public school system. I use both
diagnostic and summative assessment strategies to track student progress and assess student learning. I am a
patient and respectful educator who is reflective of his practices in order to constantly improve. I employ a large
variety of classroom management strategies while recognizing the importance of consistency as well as
incorporate the improvement of social skills and character development within my lessons. I have a strong
commitment to diversity, equity and inclusivity and as such, am sensitive to a range of abilities including
exceptionalities and second language learners. With ease, I modify and accommodate lessons, delivery and
assessment to ensure that all students can be successful.

My commitment to providing exemplary education is evident through my work within and outside of
schools. As a leader, it is my responsibility to recognize the needs of a classroom, create plans, and
implement realistic steps toward goal-achievement. When planning activities, I ensure there is an
opportunity for everyone to succeed while also providing them with the necessary challenges and
scaffolding to foster their learning. I strongly believe that creating and maintaining a welcoming
environment as well promoting lifelong learning is an essential skill for educators. As a teaching
candidate, I have had the ability to build capacity in a variety of primary and junior classrooms. My most
recent placements have allowed me to hone my previous teaching experiences to be better suited for
classrooms.

I have a sound understanding of Ontario Curriculum and as such, plan and deliver lessons that are engaging,
effective and purposeful. I have been successful in using a wide range of resources to support student learning
and have become proficient with Smartboards, Smart technologies, iPads, and Promethean boards. Having a
strong background in technology, I have employed the use of an assortment of assistive technologies including
Smartboard, front row system, assistive software and visual aids. The successful utilization of inquiry based
learning and fostering creativity are among my strength as a teacher. I am flexible and have the ability to adapt
to the rapid changes and demands that may present themselves within a classroom. I am actively reflective and
collaborate with other educators in unit planning to ensure consistency and the overall success of all.

I am confident that my leadership, teaching, education and related experiences will be a tremendous asset to
