File: #H1.3.4 Schultz Family Melchior Schultz

Administrator of all and singular Goods, Chattels and Credits of [the] deceased,
do make, or cause to be made, a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the
Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased
From 1705 PA Law, An Act for the better settling of Intestate Estates.

Melchior Schultz was born in Pennsylvania on March 25, 1756. He married

Salome (nee Wagner) on November 29, 1781. They had eight children, two
of whom died before Melchior. In 1794, at 38 years old, he became the third
owner of the 1758 Wentz House. He died in the house on June 1, 1826.
The following is a faithful transcription of his probate inventory. Originally
written in English it provides insight into the variety of furnishings, tools,
household items, agricultural products, and business activities Schultz had at
the Farmstead at the end of his life.
All spellings, punctuation, and abbreviations found in the original have
been retained in the transcription. Bracketed text is our editorial
suggestion. Of particular note The original did not generally use decimal
points with monetary figures which is reflected in the transcription.
