Dear Elected Official: We are pleased to announce the release of the New York League of Conservation Voters’ 2010

questionnaire. Your responses to the questionnaire will help guide our endorsement process in this critical election year. The questionnaire is also available for download at As you return from the break and resume budget negotiations, we’d like to inform you that your support for environmental funding in the state budget will be a critical factor in NYLCV’s endorsement decisions. NYLCV’s top budget priorities for FY 2011 are: • • • • Restoration of the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) and ensuring that no EPF categories are eliminated. Safeguarding the integrity of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) and ensuring that carbon auction proceeds are used solely for renewable energy and other greenhouse gas reduction technologies. Restoration of critical Department of Environmental Conservation operating resources. Keeping state parks open.

NYLCV will circulate a list of priority non-budgetary legislation in the near future. We would also like to note that the Climate Action PAC – NYLCV’s state political action committee – supports NYLCV-endorsed candidates who make environmental sustainability a top priority. In 2010, the Climate Action PAC will not support any member of the Legislature who does not actively prioritize and protect environmental funding in the state budget. Thank you for your efforts to protect New York’s air, water and natural resources, and we look forward to working with you as the session continues to unfold. Sincerely,

Marcia Bystryn President New York League of Conservation Voters
