LETTER OF INTENT
THIS TEXT IS THE PROPERTY OF THE GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY
AND IS FOR THE USE OF GENERAL ELECTRIC EMPLOYEES ONLY. lT
SHOULD BE CONSIDERED STRICTLY PRIVATE FOR THE INFORMATlON
OF GE POWER GENERATlON EMPLOYEES. lT SHOULD NOT BE LEFT
WHERE OTHERS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO lTS CONTENTS.
THE INFORMATlON IN THIS TEXT AUGMENTS EXlSTlNG DOCUMENTATION
AND PROVlDES USEFUL DOCUMENTATION THAT IS NOT FORMALLY
ISSUED. THE INFORMATION COVERS INSTALLATION AND SERVICE TOPICS
APPLlCABLE TO GAS TURBINE AND STEAM TURBINE APPLlCATlONS
OFTHE MARK V AND IS SUBJECT TO PERIODIC REVlSION.
WHILE EVERY ATTEMPT IS MADE TO ASSURE THAT THE INFORMATlON
IS BOTH ACCURATE AND CURRENT, THE VERY NATURE OF THE MARK V
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT PRECLUDES AN ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE.
THE INFORMATlON SHOULD BE USED AS A GUIDE AND PRECAUTIONS
TAKEN IN THE EVENT THE PROCEDURES OR ADVlCE GIVEN FAlL TO
PRODUCE THE DESIRED RESULT DUE TOENHANCEMENTSINTRODUCED
INTO THE MARK V AFTER THE INFORMATlON IS ISSUED. AN EXAMPLE
OF THIS IS THE PRINT FUNCTION, WHICH ORIGINALLY REQUIRED THAT
PRlNTlNG BE ACCOMPLlSHED FROM THE DOS PROMPT USING DOS
COMMANDS. THE DOS COMMAND INFORMATION IS INCLUDED IN THE
TEXT WHILE THE CURRENT VERSION MARKV CONTAINS THE NECESSARY FILES TO PRINT BY SCREEN SELECTION. THE DOS COMMAND
PROCEDURE REMAlNS IN THE TEXT SINCE IT WAS FELT THAT lT WAS
BETTER TO HAVE lT AND NOT USE lT RATHER THAN NEED lT AND NOT
HAVE IT. THIS PHILOSOPHY APPLIES GENERALLY THROUGHOUT THE
HANDBOOK.
