337 Memorandum CITY OF DALLAS August 1, 2009 Meritorious Conduct Board Personnel and Development Division ‘Nomination of Senior Corporal, #5460, for Officer of the Month Senior Corporal Leslie Richardson, #5460, is currently assigned to the South Central Patrol Division on Second Watch. It has been my privilege to supervise him and he has proven to be an exceptional Officer. Senior Corporal Richardson's knowledge, maturity, Judgment, leadership and his street knowledge and community involvement, has earned him the respect and friendship of his peers and supervisors and the community. His exceptional interpersonal skills are apparent as he demonstrates an uncanny ability to transfer police concepts from written law to applied law enforcement, Senior Corporal Richardson also exhibits a high level of enthusiasm, making it apparent that he really enjoys his job. On a daily basis Senior Corporal Richardson instills a sincere sense o public and community service. He’s an active member of his church, working with Preteens and youths, he uses his interpersonal skills and leadership ability to instill self esteem and the value of citizenship to the youths of his church and community. Senior Corporal Richardson's overall productivity and performance is consistently in the top ten percent of his sector and all of the officers assigned to this division. His exceptional work performance has been demonstrated by the quality/quantity of felony arrests and the volume of calls that he answered and commendations he received from both supervisors and citizens. Senior Corporal Richardson has demonstrated the ability to show leadership among his peers in that he is often sought for his advice. On calls Senior Corporal Richardson has an uncanny ability to bring real world solutions to the complainant’s problems and to diffuse potential hostile situations in the field, he's consistently noticed by both the supervisors and peers. Even though the volume of calls is high, Senior Corporal Richardson remains energetic and enthusiastic on each and every call Senior Corporal Richardson has been a Field Training Officer (FTO) for several years. He has shown many Rookies how to carry themselves in a professional manner and to treat the Citizen of Dallas with respect that they deserve. Senior Corporal Richardson has made hundreds arrests which has been conducted with the utmost professionalism and occasionally under hazardous conditions. _ Senior Corporal Richardson prepares reports that are concise and highly descriptive. He is aware of all the necessary information needed for a detective to make a complete and proper prosecution report to be filed with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.
