Passport Wallet

All the templates need to be enlarged on a photocopier by 155% and will fit onto 11 x 7 sized paper. The
templates include a -inch seam allowance.
MATERIALS:
1/3 yd. Fabric 1: Exterior (Pattern A) and Tab (Pattern E)
1/8 yd. Fabric 2: Exterior accent stripe
1/3 yd. Fabric 3: Lining (Pattern A) and Change Purse (Pattern D)
1/3 yd. Fabric 4: Ticket pocket (Pattern B) and Billfold (Pattern C)
1/4 yd. Fabric 5: Passport Pocket
1/4 yd. Fabric 6: Credit Card Pocket
4 x 2 1/2 piece of transparent vinyl (ID pocket)
1 3/4 piece of 3/8 wide elastic (pen holder)
1/3 yd. heavy fusible interfacing (I used Pellon Decor-Bond 809)
2/3 yd. light fusible interfacing (I used Pellon Fusible 911 FF)
2 size 16 (7/16) no-sew snaps (I used Dritz pearl brown snaps)

Straight edge (15 x 15 quilting ruler recommended)

Notes:
Unless noted, seam allowances are 1/2. Top stitching should be between 1/16 and 1/8 from the edge.

Cutting fabric
Using either pattern pieces or rotary cutter and quilting ruler, cut the following:
one A and two E from Fabric 1 and heavy interfacing
one 2 1/2 x 10 strip from Fabric 2 and light interfacing
one A from Fabric 3 and heavy interfacing
two D from Fabric 3 and light interfacing
one B and one C from Fabric 4 and heavy interfacing
one 8 x 5 rectangle from Fabric 5 and light interfacing
one 6 1/2 x 6 rectangle from Fabric 6 and light interfacing.
Following the manufactures instructions, fuse interfacing to fabric. Using the tracing wheel and paper, transfer
all placement guides from pattern pieces to fabric.
Sew Ticket Pocket
With right sides together, fold B on fold line. Sew along diagonal side. Trim seam allowance and clip corner.
Turn and press. Top stitch along diagonal side and folded edge.
Tip: for a more professional look, top stitch using a slightly longer stitch than regular sewing.
Passport Pocket and ID Pocket
With right sides together, fold 8 x 5 rectangle in half crosswise. Sew around three sides, leaving an opening
on the long side for turning. Trim seam allowances and clip corners. Turn. Press, making sure to turn in
unsewn edges. Top stitch folded edge. Following the placement guide, place vinyl ID pocket on passport
pocket. Top stitch the lower edge of the ID pocket using a Teflon or rolling foot.
Tip: if you dont have a Teflon foot, stick Post-It Notes to the vinyl before stitching. Carefully pull off the PostIt when youre done.
Top stitch the passport pocket and ID pocket to the ticket pocket around the sides and bottom making sure to
catch the sides of the ID pocket.
Tip: be sure to keep your iron away from the ID pocket.
With the lining right side up, baste the ticket pocket to left side.
Billfold
With wrong sides together, fold C on fold line. Press. Top stitch along folded edge.
Change Purse
With right sides together, sew two D together, leaving an opening at the short end for turning. Trim seam
allowances and clip the upper curve and the corners. Turn. Press, making sure to turn in the unsewn edges.
Top stitch the upper curve starting 2 inches before and after it begins. Top stitch the lower edge. Using
placement on pattern, attach snaps according to manufacturers instructions
Tip: if you dont have a snap attacher, use a spool and hammer.
Make sure snap socket and post are on opposite sides. Fold on fold lines and press. Keeping the flap open, top
stitch change purse to billfold around sides and bottom. Carefully sew across the open flap close to the purse
opening.

Credit Card Holder


With right sides together, fold 6 x 6 rectangle in half crosswise. Sew around three sides, leaving an
opening along the long side for turning. Trim seam allowances and clip corners. Turn and press. Top stitch
along the folded edge. Fold in half crosswise and gently press to mark the center. Top stitch credit card holder
to billfold along the top, right side and bottom. Top stitch across center to form two pockets. Baste billfold to
right side of lining.
Pen Holder
Stitch ends of elastic with a 1/8 seam. Turn. Using placement on pattern, sew to lining.
Exterior and Tab
Turn under 1/2 seam allowance along one long side of the accent strip. Press. With wrong side to right side,
place strip on right-hand side of the exterior. Top stitch folded edge. With right sides together, sew two E
along sides and curved edge. Trim seam allowances. Turn. Press. Top stitch sewn edge. Attach socket part of
snap to tab. With right sides together and matching raw edges, baste tab to exterior side opposite to the accent
stripe.
Finishing up
With right sides together and matching notches, baste exterior to lining leaving an opening along the accent
stripe side for turning. Sew. Trim seam allowances. Turn. Carefully turn in unsewn edges. Press. Top stitch
around the wallet. Attach post part of snap to exterior, making sure to check placement with snap socket on tab
before attaching.
