Prepare the Yard Make a plan to prepare your yard for winter. Make a list of the items you will need, and buy them on your next trip to your home improvement store.

Clean the Pool Decide the last date you want to use the pool and plan an end of the year party. Check to see if you need to purchase any supplies to close the pool and get them on your next trip out.

GET IT TOGETHER THIS FALL!
Fall is upon us and its time to get organized before winter arrives. Here are a few tips on how to give yourself more time, winterize your home, and keep your family on track.
Once the kids start school, its time to form family routines. Make a regularly scheduled time for homework, dinner, and other daily activities. Establish a homework place for your kids to complete their tasks each night. Keep this space clear from toys, noise, and other intrusions. Once they have completed their homework, have them put it in their school bag right away so it is ready for the morning routine. Do as much as possible the night before-put out clothes, make lunches, etc. An easy morning will be less stressful on everyone! As you pack away your summer toys and patio furniture, evaluate what is worth storing in your home. Dispose of any broken toys or anything your kids didn’t use this year. Clean patio furniture throughly. Purchase patio furniture covers. These will save you time when you take the furniture out again next year. When you put away your summer clothes, evaluate each item as you put it away. Consider what you are really going to want to use next year. Discard or donate any worn out pieces. If your child will have outgrown any clothes by then, discard them. Use vacuum sealing bags to store clothing. If you use totes or boxes, clearly label each box with its contents, their owner, the date you last accessed the box and even the sizes of the clothes contained. Now is a great time of year to start organization projects. Buy yourself more time by hiring professionals to close the pool, rake the leaves, prepare your home for winter.

The Great Artwork Debate
Soon your kids will be coming home with artwork and school work. Decide what to keep right away, and create a filing system for the rest. Frame artwork that you love in easy to change frames. Involve your kids in deciding what to keep.
