Legal and Ethical Issues

Copy right My work will be unique and will not be copied from any other
companies work. It will be unique and be my own work completely, all written by
myself. By owning intellectual property you have the right to own something and
for it not to be copied. The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 is the
current copyright law, you would break this law if you were to copy someone
elses work.
Discrimination- Discrimination could include portraying people differently
because of their age, disability, gender, race or religion. In my work I will not
portray anybody in an unfair or stereotypical way so everyone is treated fair and
equal.
Obscenity Law- Obscenity is a law that prevents people from using swearing,
violence or pornography in their media products. The Obscene Publications Act
was passed in 1857. This is because it could set a bad example to children and

could make them think it is the right thing to do. I will apply this to my work by
making everything clean as I dont want to offend or upset anyone
Trespass- In my work I will make sure I do not take pictures on land that is owned
by someone or that has been used for something else. If I wanted to take
pictures on land that someone owned I would have to ask permission to do so
first.
