PROJECT # 1: “CHANGES”
CONCEPT QUESTION: WHAT IS CHANGING IN OUR WORLD?

All kinds of animals change and grow. They go from babies to adults, you know. Some
animals’ babies come out of eggs they lay. Birds, most fish and reptiles, and amphibians
have babies that way. Mammals’ tiny live babies can’t survive on their own, so their
parents take care of them until they’ve grown.
GENERAL GOALS - To learn about:

1/8 illustration cardboard
color pencils, crayons or any other media
pencil & eraser
cut outs if desired

Written Part:
The written part is being done in the
classroom along with the teacher and will
be sent home to be reviewed for the oral
presentation.

PROCEDURE:

1. Explore and do the exercises from the link .

2. Then think about an animal or plant that you would like to recreate.
3. Start by modeling with your thoughts how this may go through changes and
growth.
4. In 1/8 piece of illustration cardboard put a frame on the side border and decorate
it.
5. Next, draw and color or cut out and paste any animal or plant that you like and
illustrate how it changes as it grows, or how it changed when it grew.
6. Put a name to your work and decorate it as you like.
