TOOLS AND
MATERIALS
Litmus Paper
Universal Paper
Ph Meter
Water
Spoon / something to stir
Glass
Soil

STEPS (LITMUS & UNIVERSAL

PA P E R )
Prepare the Litmus & universal paper, soil, water,
something to stir and a glass.
Put the soil into the glass.
Pour half a glass of water. And stir.
Wait until the soil and the water has been separated.
And now you can test the soil with the litmus & universal
paper. But dont let the litmus & universal paper touch the
soil. Just the water.

STEPS ( PH METER )
Prepare the Ph meter, something to dig (You can
use a spoon) the soil, and water.
Dig the soil
Pour the water
And put the Ph meter into the water on the soil.
Wait for a while and put the Ph meter into the
water on the soil and see the Ph.

RESULTS

SAMPLE A
Litmus Paper : BLUE : - Before : Blue
- After : Blue
RED : - Before : Red
- After : Blue
Universal Paper : Ph : 8
Ph Meter : 8.1
Conclusion : Sample As Soil is Base

SAMPLE B
Litmus Paper : BLUE : - Before: Blue
- After : Blue
RED : - Before : Red
- After : Blue

Universal Paper : Ph : 8
Ph Meter : 7.5
Conclusion : Sample Bs Soil is Base.

CONCLUSION
So the conclusion is that both soil (sample
A&B) are Base. Why? Because when we tested
them with litmus paper, both samples turned
blue. When we tested them with universal paper,
both samples got Ph 8. Which means that it is
base. Because its above 7. if its under ph , that
means it is acid. Plus, for the last, when we tested
them using the Ph Meter, Sample A is Ph 8.1 and
Sample B is Ph 7.5, which means it is base,
because both of them is ph above 7.
