Electronic Scholarly Presentation

Prepare an electronic presentation on the influence of one

nursing conceptual model, grand theory, or high-mid range nursing
theory that you explored in topic 2. Cite sources and provide
complete references using APA format (6th edition). Limit the
presentation to 6 slides. This limit includes the title page and
the reference list. If you are in a web-based section you will
discuss each slide with an audio in your own voice. Only one
presentation is allowed. If you want to make a correction to your
presentation, do so in reply comments.
(No additional slides.)
Include the following essential components in your presentation:
1). Identify 2-3 values and assumptions found within your chosen
nursing theory;
2). Give an example of empiricist paradigm influence reflected
in the values and assumptions of your chosen nursing
model/theory;
-Explain the reason for attributing influence from the
empiricist paradigm of your chosen nursing model/theory.
3). Give an example of the interpretive paradigm influence
reflected in the values and assumptions of your chosen nursing
model/theory;
-Explain the reason for attributing influence from one
of the interpretive philosophies on your chosen
model/theory.
4). State your chosen specific clinical example;
-Briefly describe how that clinical example would be viewed
from the perspective of your selected nursing model/theory.
(What would be the focus or concern of the model/theory
with that clinical example?) (No case studies.)
The size of the font should be easy to read when printed as
handouts of 3 to a page. If using the exact words of a source,
put in quotes, cite the source and page number. See the
guidelines for electronic presentations found under Course
Materials. Presentations are limited to 5-10 minutes
(instructors discretion). Keep the file size as small as
possible by avoiding the use of motion in the slides.
Your instructor will identify the date your presentation is due.
Web-based sessions will present in the main online discussion
board. Classroom-based sessions will present during a seminar
meeting and/or online. All students will receive peer and
instructor feedback on their presentation.
