& Specialty Chemicals in India with monopoly in Glycols Manufacturing Technology through Molasses route. It is also
involved in production of Industrial gases (Medical O 2, N2, Ar, and CO2). With 4 manufacturing divisions at Kashipur,
Gorakhpur, Saharanpur & Dehradun, IGL has an annual turnover of more than Rs.2000 Cr. India glycols Limited,
Kashipur plant is the parent unit.

CURRENT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
1. To prepare annual maintenance plan for field instruments based on historical performance, ISO norms etc. and to get it
approved.
2. To implement the approved maintenance plan and ensure that there is no slippage.
3. To prepare monthly report on maintenance activities and submit it to Area In charge.
4. To prepare annual maintenance budget for the area, submit it to Area In charge and get it approved.
5. To prepare list of spares for procurement, initiate timely purchase and to ensure that spares are available on time.
6. SAP Notification, PM Order, Service Entry and PR Creation.
7. To ensure all drawings, manuals and specification sheets of the area are maintained and all drawings and specification
sheets are digitized.
8. To maintain Control Systems like DCS, PLC, SCADA, Panel View Terminals, OPC Gateway and PIMS:
8.1 To analyze and Check Control System Life Cycle Status:

Health check of systems through daily check list of system parameters.

Prepare Maintenance schedule for Control System and to ensure its adherence.
To prepare and ensure adherence to Checklist for Control Rooms as per Namur recommendations.
To ensure proper environmental conditions are maintained in Control Rooms as per ISA standards and to
coordinate with Operations to push for Purafil and HVAC requirements for the same.

e) To identify the obsolete Control Systems which require technology upgrades and implement upgrades.
8.2 Spare Parts Management:
a) To ensure spares of all Processor Cards, I/O cards, communication modules and communication cables
are available.
b) Inspection of incoming instruments and spares in store.
8.3 Data Management: to ensure latest backups of all DCS projects, PLC logics and SCADA/ HMI configurations are
maintained and kept in fireproof casing.
8.4 Alarm Management: To ensure that alarming is optimum in DCS/ PLC systems and spurious alarms are not generated
to meet ISA 18.2 standards.
8.5 Management of AMCs:
a) To initiate and coordinate with system vendors visiting for AMC of the critical systems.
b) To manage AMC of all the desktop machines which serve as Operator Stations.
BEAKDOWN MAINTENANCE
1. To quickly troubleshoot instrument related problems by studying logic.
2. To coordinate with other service departments like Electrical and Mechanical to quickly resolve common
problems to reduce plant downtime.
3. To analyze for technical and safety incidents and take corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. Coordinate
with vendor for resolution if required.
4. On line modification of logic i.e. Channel Assignment in case of Channel Failure, replacement and
configuration of cards in case of card failure.
5. Installation of control system software for e.g. Yokogawa CS3000/ RSLogix/ Rockwell SCADA/ Emerson
DeltaV softwares and Operating System in case existing human interface system does not work.
SHUTDOWN MAINTENANCE

To prepare maintenance plan for Shutdown, submit it to Area In charge and get it approved.
To prepare Shutdown Budget for the Area, submit it to Area In charge and get it approved.
Pose Manpower requirement for shutdown and manage allotted manpower during Shutdown.
Initiate procurement for Shutdown and ensure that material is delivered before the onset of Shutdown.
To implement all new schemes of the Area during Shutdown.
Technical approval of datasheets for material to be procured for Shutdown Schemes, coordinate with Technical
Department of the plant if required.
7. Logic and Graphic modifications in PLC/ DSC systems for Shutdown Schemes.
8. Testing of Emergency Shutdown System: Simulation of all trip interlocks and checking Emergency Shutdown
system (SIS/ PLC) during Shutdown.
9. To ensure that 2 copies of backups of DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, Bentley Nevada VMS, APC and PIMS are taken
and kept in fireproof casing after the Shutdown is over.
