DESIGN

INFORMATION

REPHRASED:
We live in constant streams of data, working to extract pertinent information from a swift current of text and visuals. We also face the challenges of getting our own messages to readers dealing with information overload and anxiety. This course introduces the concepts, vocabulary, and tools for effective presentation of print and digital information. Weʼll read a number of approaches to information design and create audience-centered products that may include brochures, banners, and digital documents. (Fulfills a Histories & Theories requirement for Writing Majors, but is open to all majors. Graduate students will complete additional readings and make larger contributions to assignments.)
