Comets, Asteroids, & Meteoroids Project

Due Wednesday, December 4th


Choose one or more of the following to earn points listed on the rubric:
Create acrostic poems
Directions:
Create an acrostic poem of the term comet. The acrostic must provide information on the comets orbit,
composition (what the comet is made of), and effects of the comet while moving through space and when
entering another planets atmosphere. Make acrostic poems for the terms asteroid and meteoroid. Decorate
the acrostics to make it visually appealing.

Posters
Directions:
Design posters that illustrate the orbits, compositions, and effects while moving through space and a
planets atmosphere of comets, asteroids, and/or meteoroids. The poster must include colored illustrations,
as well as written or typed descriptions.

Skit
Directions:
Develop a skit that demonstrates the orbits, compositions, and effects while moving through space and other
planets atmosphere of comets, asteroids, and/or meteoroids. A script must be turned in and the skit
performed for the class. The skit can be videotaped. Other people may appear in the skit.

Rap, Jingle, Song


Directions:
Compose a rap, jingle, or song that provides information on the orbits, compositions, and effects while
moving through space and other planets atmosphere of comets, asteroids, and/or meteoroids. Lyrics must
be typed out and turned in. The rap, jingle, or song must be taped or performed. Other people may help
during the performance.

Write a story
Directions:
Write a story about comets, asteroids, and/or meteoroids that includes information about their orbits,
compositions, and effects while moving through space and other planets atmospheres. A written copy of the
story must be turned in.

Pamphlet
Directions:
Design a tri-fold brochure that describes the orbits, compositions, and effects while moving the space and
other planets atmospheres of comets, asteroids, and/or meteoroids. Include pictures and other interesting
facts to make the pamphlet appealing.
