Wood Window Repair Workshop

Learn how to save your historic wood windows. Repair them, don’t replace them. Learn the basic skills for repairing wood, double-hung, windows. The workshop combines written hand-outs, skill demonstrations and hands-on repair. Each participant will be assigned to a two-person team to work on repairing one or two windows over the course of the workshop. All skill levels welcome. Participants will learn the following skills: Unsticking windows that are painted shut Removing window sashes Removing old glazing Re-glazing Stripping paint from sash frames Weatherstripping jambs and sashes Repairing weights and ropes Teachers: Lorri Sipes and Maggie Hostetler, Wood Window Repair; Robin Adair, Adair Restoration Dates: Friday, June 4: Saturday, June 5: Sunday, June 6: Cost: $100 Registration Deadline: May 14, 2010 Limited Spots Available: The workshop is limited to 15 participants on a first come, first serve basis.
