Senior Project Panel
Santa Susana High School
3570 Cochran Street
Simi Valley, CA 93063

Dear Panel Member,

I am a student at Santa Susana high school who has taken several courses in both
programming and art. I am very passionate about videogames and electronic media that has
inspired me to go along the career path of a videogame designer.
I spent countless hours practicing my art of 3D modeling in Autodesk Maya, a 3D animation
program. I have also spend quite a bit of time in the game engine Unreal Engine 4, although
neither this or Maya are taught at this school. Hence why I decided to teach Maya myself for
my senior project. Maya is a very large program and as such, would take a lot of time to teach
everything. Since my time was very limited, I decided to simply teach the basics. The basics
including simple modeling techniques like edge loops, extrusions, and merging. All of which
can be used to create anything you want, given enough time.
Im grateful I go to Santa Susana High School, for its technical and arts education, that has
helped me get a metaphorical foot into the door of the entertainment industry. This school
has helped me prepare for the future and should allow me to get a good career in the near
future.
Best regards,

Blake Koetsier
