Lesson Focus: the students will focus on badminton
gameplay for this lesson
# Of students: 20
Equipment and Facilities: the lesson will be taught on
the blacktop and the equipment needed is 30 cones,
10 birdies, and 20 rackets.
Safety Considerations: safety considerations would
be the students not paying attention and running into
each other or hitting someone with their rackets by
not calling for the birdie.
Lesson Specifics
Behavioral Contingencies: for this lesson there will
be a 1 strike policy as the first time a student
misbehaves they will be done with tiger pride for the
day as the rackets can be very harmful if not used
properly
Previously Learned Skills: throwing/ catching a
football. Passing/ trapping a soccer ball. Shooting/
dribbling a basketball. Overhead/ underhand/ serving
in badminton.
Teaching Strategy: the teacher will be monitoring the
game play area by walking the perimeter and making
sure students understand what they are supposed to
be doing.
Academic Language: overhead- birdie is above you
Underhand- birdie is towards the ground
Birdie- the thing you are hitting with the racket
