thattheysetandreinforcestandardsofconductandbeliefandtheyareacomparisonfunction.

Mechanicalandorganicsolidaritydohaveadistinctiontothemandeachcarrytheirownplacein
asociety.
MechanicalSolidarityisthesocialcohesionbasedonsharedexperiences,knowledgeand
skillsoftencreatesbondsofunity.Thisisthemoretraditional,itisaformofcohesion
thattakesplaceinternallyfrombeinglikeoneanother.Thismechanismtakesplacein
smallscalesocieties.Ithelpspeoplefeelmoreconnectedwithoneanothersharingthe
samework,education,religion,andlifestyle.Thisisidealtoamorekinshipsociety.
OrganicSolidarityisthesocialcohesionbasedonmutualinterdependenceinthecontext
ofasocietywhodividestheirlabordependingoneachother.Thismechanismtakesplace
insocietiesthataremoreadvanced/developedandcomplex,asocietyasawhole
workingtogethertokeepthingsgoing.Thisismoremodernandindustrial.
