DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016 Group D Preview

DreamHack’s next stop is Malmö, Sweden in which we’ll be seeing 16 of
the best teams in the world facing off against one another for their share of
a $250,000 prize pool in a best-of-one, GSL format, the deciders for each
group will be a best-of-three.
It’s important to note that a week prior to the $250,000 tournament Fnatic
has announce that they will miss the tournament due to Olof “olofmeister”
Kajbjer’s arm injury. G2 eSports will be replacing them in Group B.
It was also announced that Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs will be attending
the tournament for Na`Vi, but will most likely not be playing due to his wrist
injury, replacing him will be Na`Vi’s coach, Starix.

Virtus.Pro
Filip “Neo” Kubski
Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas
Jaroslaw “pashaBiceps” Jarzabkowski
Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski
Pawel “byali” Bielinski
Virtus.Pro in all honesty shouldn’t even be attending this tournament, but
since the invites were determined via the Cluj-Napoca event, they’re here.
The Polish squad is likely going to be demoted to premier and we expect a
few roster changes coming, even though lately they’ve been playing pretty
good Counter:Strike on LAN, they should be able to make it out of this
group simply based off firepower alone and EnvyUs’s rocky form.

EnvyUs
Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt
Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer
Kenny “KennyS” Schrub
Dan “apEX” Madesclaire
Timothee “DEVIL” Demolon
No team defines the definition of “struggling” more than this EnvyUs lineup, the two time
major championship winning lineup has hit virtual rock bottom, ever since the release of
Kioshima and even before, EnvyUs has struggled to make it out of group stages, with a
first round matchup slated against the highly motivated and hungry Brazilians
(TempoStorm), NBK’s squad is going to have to bring their A game right out of the gates
or else we may see a EnvyUs lineup not making it out of the group stage again.

Tempo Storm
Ricardo “boltz” Prass
Henrique “hen1” Teles
Joao “felps” Vasconcellos
Gustavo “SHOOWTiME” Goncalves
Lucas “lucas” Teles
A huge question mark in our opinion, they are coming off a respectable 5th-6th place
finish at IEM Katowice in which they defeated EnvyUs, Virtus.pro and played Natus
Vincere to a pretty close quarater-finals, they’ll be looking to make a statement this

tournament, especially after being left out of the ECS (Esports Championship Series),
can the Brazlians transfer their domestic play to the international stage, that is the true
question.

FaZe
Ricardo “fox” Pacheco
Havard “rain” Nygaard
Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad
Philip “aizy” Aistrup
Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey
Continuing the group of struggle and group of tears is FaZe clan, since finishing in the
semi-finals of Cluj-Napoca last year, the mixed squad is in shambles, having fallen to
the 31st ranked team in the world. After getting knocked out of the group stage at MLG
Columbus, Maikelele has decided to step down from the roster and replacing him will be
kioShiMa, since being removed from the EnvyUs roster he hasn’t seen any professional
play, hopefully he can find his form with this new team and get back to being one of the
best riflers in the world.
