I believe that the elementary school I attended was the foundation for the reader and writer I have become. I could already read easy books and write short sentences by the time I started school when I was 5. This had a lot to do with my parents and grandparents reading to me and talking to me every day. It really helped to build up my vocabulary and I thank them for this. I grew up loving to read and write, and this was proven by my above average grades in these subjects all throughout school. Later on I was chosen to be in AIMS, which is like honor classes for elementary kids. It was more interesting and more hands on than my regular classes with everyone else. Every day I would I would anticipate this class by looking at the clock every five minutes.
